 It is true and honest. This poster reflects what Detachment is all about. The extreme close-up on Adrien Brody’s face and his severely melancholic and almost apathetic expression – most vividly seen in his eyes – speak louder than all tag lines. The film’s name is also presented in its raw form illustrating pure detachment from all colors and ostentation.

At the beginning of the film, a quote appears: And never have I felt so deeply at one and the same time so detached from myself and so present in the world. — Albert Camus

I heard Camus’ words reverberate through this poster, and certainly through Brody’s authentic performance.
